Finished O'Reilly's "Bold, Fresh Piece of Humanity"

I highly recommend the subject book to anyone, especially males, especially men over 55, and anyone with a Catholic background. The book was a fun trip down memory lane to a more innocent time. Life has gotten complicated by any comparison and we get so wrapped up in it that we don't appreciate what made us who we are. Reading this book provided me with a terrific opportunity (and excuse) to reflect on more innocent times when I was bold and fresh ... or at least thought I was.

It would be good for most of us to 'reset' our priorities and this book is a great tool in the process of doing that. It's also just plain entertaining reading. For those of you who are younger than 55 you may learn a few things about the generation I'm privileged to share with Mr. O'Reilly. You may learn that there's no harm in being a little more flexible, a little less up-tight about things.

Most of the things we take seriously aren't worth the effort. The things we should really be thinking about will be our undoing if we don't seriously consider them better. Principles MATTER. Values MATTER. Lightening up MATTERS. Respect that's earned REALLY MATTERS. Above all, God and Godly principles MATTER! But being fresh and bold is important. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Here's to ALL Bold, Fresh Guys from the 50's and 60's! God Bless You Guys!
